We present a stunning interpretation of Tiffany’s rare and valuable Lotus shade c. 1905.
The original Tiffany Lotus shade was designed with the top secton open exposing electrified metal stems hanging down inside the shade with light bulbs attached at the ends mimicking lotus buds that illuminated the shade. This ingenious design would be costly to replicate today therefore we closed in the top section with glass without losing the essence of the design.
This deep shade with large, floppy lotus flowers forming an irregular border adapts perfectly as a stunning floor lamp. Especially striking are the lotus blossoms constructed of hand rolled glass in various vibrant reds. The leaves are bright greens, the stems are pale root beer and the background is honey. Overall, a simple pattern with four colors, but one that is absolutely impressive for where a rich accent is needed.
