The Fringe shade design is a clever modern interpretation in glass of a Victorian-era silk shade. Notice the brick-like squares on the dome of the shade. This area (greatly exaggerated) represents the warp and weft weave of fabric. The diamond shapes are knots that attach to a macrame-like banding from which long silk fringe cascades downward to form the shade’s multi-colored, hand rolled glass skirt. You almost want to run your fingers through the silky fringe.

Since this is a deep shade it is also a great choice for a hanging fixture over a table.
